Architectural Drafting in Kentucky

Nicknamed the "Bluegrass State" because of its distinctive variety of grass that grows throughout the state, Kentucky is famous for its thoroughbred horses, the Cumberland Gap, which is the passageway to the Appalachian Mountains, and the world's largest underground cave system, Mammoth Cave National Park. Kentucky is also the birthplace of Abraham Lincoln. One of the more significant structures that has stood the test of time is Louisville's U.S. Marine Hospital, which is believed to be the best surviving antebellum hospital in the country. It was designed in 1845 by the architect Robert Mills, who also designed the Washington Monument in Washington, D.C.
