The Art Institute of Pittsburgh - Online Division

Location: Online School

Maine, the northernmost state in the country, is celebrated for its sublime scenery such as its jagged rocky coastline, low rolling hills, and lush dense forests as well as its seafood dishes that often feature lobsters and clams. Commercial fishing is a mainstay in Maine's economy in addition to agricultural products such as blueberries, apples, maple syrup, and potatoes. The Burnham Tavern, built in 1770 and located in Machias, was a rendezvous point for local patriots during the American Revolution. The Tavern is an excellent example of the design and technology of the time and is now a museum open to the public.
