Architectural Drafting in Massachusetts

Massachusetts is a significant epicenter of American history. Plymouth, Massachusetts was the second permanent English settlement in the "New World." Many of Massachusetts's towns date from the 1620's and 1630's. Boston became known as the "Cradle of Liberty" and led the colonies in the American Revolution. Massachusetts was also the first state to abolish slavery. Design of the Old State House is attributed to architect Robert Twelves. This was the location of the Puritan stockades and Boston's first trading floor. The Declaration of Independence was read for the first time from its balcony. The red brick building is ornamented and symmetrical and its roof is obscured facades. Its prominent feature is a tall steeple with elaborate clear glass windows.
