Architectural Drafting in Michigan
The birth of the automobile forever changed the future of Michigan. Henry Ford built the first automotive plant in Highland Park, Michigan, ushering in a new era in Michigan's and America's economy. In addition to the automotive industry, Michigan is also known for its thousands of freshwater lakes and its residents' love of water sports. One of the most famous structures in Michigan is the beautiful Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island. Designed by Detroit architects Mason and Rice, the Grand Hotel featured Victorian design and contains 385 guest rooms. The Grand Hotel's front porch is reportedly the longest in the world measuring 660 feet (200 m) in length.
