Architectural Drafting in Nevada
Nevada is fondly known as "The Silver State," due to the large amount of silver discovered and mined there. Nevada's economy is largely driven by the entertainment and gambling industries as it is home to world-famous gambling mecca Las Vegas. The state is an excellent source of sandstone, and many of its historic buildings have been constructed using it, including the former U.S. Mint building located in Carson City and the state capitol building. Built in 1870-71, Nevada's elegant state capitol building is constructed of native sandstone from the area and combines characteristics of classic Corinthian, Ionic, and Doric architecture.
