Architectural Drafting in Utah
The state of Utah is known for its concentration of information technology, transportation, research, mining, and government services. Utah is also a major tourist destination and popular with outdoor recreation enthusiasts like rock climbers and skiers. Many state and national parks such as Bryce Canyon National Park attract scores of tourists every year. Since Utah contains the highest concentration of Mormons (Church of Latter Day Saints), it is expected that the architecture would reflect the religion's influence. This is true with the spectacular Salt Lake Temple, located in Temple Square, Salt Lake City. Construction on the temple began in the 1850's. The principal building material was quartz monzonite, which was cut from nearby Little Cottonwood Canyon.
